Graduates of the Janesville International Education Program (JIEP) are well-equipped to enter top universities and to succeed at every level in school and beyond. They emerge knowing how to learn, grow, and thrive in environments that promote the development of skills that are critical for the 21st century.

Geographic Profile

Population over 60,000, built on the Rock River and is the county seat for Rock County named by the Native American and New England settlers from the large Rock jutting out from the River at what is now Monterey Park. Janesville is known as the “City of Parks” with over 2,300 acres of parkland and more than 25 miles of paved bike and walking trails. Community residents are full of love and keen on outdoor activities. In 2014, the school district began recruiting international exchange students. The program is suitable for Chinese students aged 15-18. Through this project, international students can advance into the US education system, laying a solid foundation for American university applications. In such a safe and quiet garden city, high schools and local host families will provide international students with the highest quality of pure American learning style and lifestyle, and help them prepare in advance for a first-class university in the United States. During this process, international students can establish long-term friendship with outstanding students from all over the world .

Janesville and the Rock County area has a rich history of booming businesses through the years.  Agriculture has been and still is a large contribution to our culture and economy, but many famous industries and international businesses have had their start here as well – ABC Supply, Blaine Supply, Frito-Lay, Grainger, Hufcor, McFarlane Pheasant Farms, Parker Pen, Universal Acoustic and Emission Technologies and many more.
