The University of Queensland

The University of Queensland (UQ) is a world-renowned institution of higher scientific research, and is ranked among the top 50 universities in the world by QS and U.S. News. Founded in 1909, the school is the first comprehensive university in Queensland and one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Australia. It is also one of the Six Sandstone Universities, Association of Pacific Rim Universities, the Group of Eight and UNIVERSITAS 21.

The University of Queensland has two Nobel Laureates and 117 Rhodes Scholars. The two Nobel Prize winners are Peter C. Doherty, the winner of 1996 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and Barry James Marshall, the winner of 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, the first female Australian Governor Dame Quentin Bryce, the President of the University of California, Sam Hawgood, and the President of King's College London, Ed Byrne, are all alumni of the University of Queensland.

In 2019, the University of Queensland ranked 47th in the QS World University Rankings, 42nd in 2020 US News World University Rankings and 36th in CWTS World University Rankings.

The University of Queensland Business School is the first business school in Australia to be accredited by the AACSB and it also be accredited by EQUIS. It was rated out of five stars by the Australian Management Graduates Association (GMAA). It was also selected by the Economist Intelligence Unit as the top ten global business schools in 2016 and the NO.1 in the Asian-Pacific region.
