Rutgers University, referred to as "RU or Rutgers, its full name is Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the predecessor was founded in 1766, and called Queen's College, which was a place as one of the world's most prestigious leading public research universities as well as the largest universities in New Jersey, its academic reputation within the State only after Princeton University.

Rutgers University is one of the 62 members the North America's top university academic alliance association of American universities (AAU), and the Ten major league (Big Ten Conference), a member of American society as "public ivy" university.

Campus anecdotes

Founded at Rutgers University in 1834, the Bullblood Society is an old college fraternity that has much in common with the Skull and Bones. Each year, members select 12 freshmen and invite them to join the club in the coming year. Selected recruits must prove their loyalty by pulling a series of ingenious pranks on Princeton. Their most famous prank came in 1875, when they stole a cannon from the Princeton campus. The group includes Nobel laureate Milton Friedman, former vice President Garret Augustus Hobart and former FBI director Louis J. Freeh.
