SHU Zhan ( his English name is Tommy) is going to study in America next term. Because he recently got offers from five famous American high schools.

As an eighth-grade student, Tommy's comprehensive abilities in various aspects, such as language ability, have performed extremely well among students of the same age. SSAT scored 2,316 points (2,400 points) and TOEFL 114 points (120 points).

In the eyes of his teachers and classmates, Tommy is a sunny, hardworking and life-loving boy.

In his spare time, he participated in DIY clubs, basketball clubs, etc. And he helped classmates to solve math problems in class.

He and his classmates are often seen in the activities of green planting cultivation week, fun sports meeting, Halloween, Christmas, charity sale, art festival and basketball league.

About Tommy

Hello, my name is Shu Zhan, my English name is Tommy. My life started 13 years ago in December third two thousand and four in Beijing.

my parents work in a multinational company, I moved to Zhangjiagang a few months after I was born. There I would grow up to the age of ten and travel to places around the world with my parents. That was until the age of ten when my father received a job in Canada. My father immediately agreed to the offer, and so off we went to Canada.

Canada had great natural resources so my family and I would often travel into the mountains to hike. I grew a passion for nature there that would continue to this day. There I became better at English and learned how to code a robot. During the last summer vacation, I programmed the robot to be able to walk through a maze using its sensors. To this day I still like to program my robot to do cool things such as sharpshooting a target.

Since, my piano was too big to carry there, I decided to try out a new instrument, so I joined the school band as a clarinet player. An instrument that I liked, so I decided to stick with it.

My years in Canada gave great experiences and eventually my dad got another offer to come back. Which is why I’m here today, in Zhangjiagang Liangfeng International School. In this school I have built strong bases for high school while enjoying my life.

Tommy is like an eagle flying higher and higher into the sky that he desires. We hope he can see more scenery, feel more different forces, live with nature and be united with the world.

The 21st Century Skills proposed by the United States includes new concepts such as the personality and development of people in the new era, including its thinking choices as well. These subjects cannot be cultivated alone. So we have to hold a different system of doing it through all kinds of activities and projects, so that we can develop a kind of non-disciplinary quality. For example, how to plan your life and the analysis of people themselves. All these are important for human development, including the change of thinking mode and learning theory.

The children need to group up healthily and happily.
